"Dear Mama" (マーマへ Māma e?) is the third chapter of Volume 4, and twenty-seventh overall of the SHY manga series.
Summary
Pepesha Andreanova remembers that her mother would always be stoic, but there would be times when she would smile like a child to her. Two months after Letana's death and Pepesha's integration into Yuri Orphanage, Isaak and Natalia worried about her as she said nothing all that time. In another room, Pepesha was looking into her mother's photo, talking to herself as she thought her mother hated her, until she is approached by Natalia.
Natalia told her that Letana did indeed love her but Pepesha was skeptical at first. The older woman then took her to another room and gave her Letana's letter, which contained her true thoughts and feelings about Pepesha. Natalia theorizes that she must have written it while she was drunk. Once, Letana asked her daughter if she would like to go to a place where she would feel no hunger or cold, but as she said adults couldn't go there, Pepesha denied, to which Letana agreed.
After reading her mother's letter, Pepesha burst out in tears, regretting that she never told her how much she loved her. Finally, Spirit is able to tell Tzveta, rather, to tell her mother that she really loves her.
