"Peace in Enlightment" (
Summary
Utsuro Karakururi explains to Shy that, while shinobi are unnecessary to the world, their heart would still be a key to changing the world. That is why she gives her her own heart ring so she could use her power for the greater good. Her form crumbles back into Mai, she reveals she has met the former Japanese hero and hopes that Shy will be able to follow into her footsteps as well.
Tokimaru, in his bird form, reassures Mai that he, too, saw their kindness as he was saved by them before, and that all those birds always watched over her. As Mai tells Tokimaru to take care of Ai Tennoji, she finally disappears, and her sword is taken to the moon by Tokimaru and the other birds, leaving Shy and her sister behind.
