Summary

Tokimaru saves Ai

Tokimaru saves Ai and introduces himself to Teru and Iko.

As Ai Tennoji reveals to Teru Momijiyama and Iko Koishikawa about her lineage, Tokimaru comes from above, the person who was chasing her. She quickly fends him off with a secret technique and the group continues on their way, until they stop by a temple so Ai could rest for a bit. She insists, however, that they should keep going, even though she is extremely tired from a single movement. Ai ends up falling the stairs of the temple, but is fortunately saved by Tokimaru, who introduces himself to the other two.

Ai and Tokimaru argue on top of a torii, with the former extremely frustrated by his actions. Teru asks why she has fled from her village, to which she replies by stating her wish to know more about the world. Ai intrigues both of them with her unique sword, Purity, as she is able to tell many things about Teru with only a single touch, which leaves her really embarrassed. Through this method, she, too, is able to discover she is actually Shy, Japan's hero.

Upon this new piece of information, Ai decides to reveal to Teru the scar on her chest and another motive for her runaway, that is, to fulfill the destiny told by Purity and eradicate evil. Tokimaru is immediately against this and argues that she doesn't even have a place to stay for the night. To this, Ai decides on the spot that she would be staying with Teru.

As Iko has to leave to tend to her brother, Ai forbids Tokimaru from entering Teru's house and pulls Teru inside. Teru panics for a moment and hurriedly tries to introduce N. Villio to her, but Ai already knew about it. As Ai takes a bath, Teru wonder what she can make for dinner. N. Villio suggests buying pizza, however, Teru is way too shy to order a take-out.

Utsuro, Ai's other self

Utsuro Karakururi, Ai's "other self."

Ai comes to her rescue, though, and proves she is not only skilled with swords. She explains to Teru how shinobi are trained and then gives dinner to Tokimaru in a rather tsundere-ish manner. Just then, they hear someone at the door, but is actually Iko, who wants to have a sleepover with them. The trio play for a bit and decide to sleep as it's getting late, but Ai is truthful to them about her true motivo to leave her village. She reveals to them she is after one of the Amarariruku: her "other self."

In the Tokyo Tower, Utsuro views upon Tokyo until she is approached by Stigma, but she seems disinterested in whatever talk he has for her. She intends to leave, though he directs her attention to the sky, stating that soon the night would slumber.

Appearances

Anime & Manga Differences

  • In the anime, N. Villio makes an active appearance. It is seen watching the television when Teru and Ai arrives, and is the one to suggest Teru to order a take-out for them, as well as helping Ai with the dishes. In the manga, it doesn't appear at all until after Teru contacts Unilord through it.
  • Utsuro and Stigma appeared before in the Episode 12's finale, alongside the rest of the Amarariruku. In Episode 15, however, their scene is expanded further in comparison to Episode 12.
