When Ai merged with Utsuro Karakururi, Shy became Purity's temporary wielder.

Shy wields Purity.
Purity is a traditional katana without a guard. Even though it's presumably made of metal, it is very light.[1] While connected to Shy, Purity showed itself in a human form much similar to Ai and Mai themselves, wearing a long, white kimono while keeping its hair in a ponytail.[2] The blade itself gains a flower-like guard after she is wielded by Shy for the first time.
Purity has a very unique feature, as it can "communicate" with its wielder. It is able to accurately read the heart of whoever touches it, making known to its wielder that person's biography, likes, worries and even secrets.[3] When Shy wielded it, Purity was able to guide her body's movements to that of a skilled swordswoman like Ai, even though the hero never wielded a blade before.
According to Ai, should Nihil and Purity's wielders fight, it would disrupt balance.[4]
Techniques
- Ninja Art: Sakura Storm (
秘 剣 乱 れ桜 Hiken: Midarezakura?): The wielder brandish Purity against their opponent to create a small, but powerful gale to push them away. It was first used by Ai against Tokimaru.[5] - Mystic Art "Basket of Flowers" (
秘 剣 『花 篝 』 Hiken "Hanakagari"?): The wielder pass through their opponent while unleashing powerful slashes with Purity. It was first used by Ai against Utsuro Karakururi, though it had no effect on her.[6]- Mystic Art, Flower Basket Redux "Ephemeral Moonflower" (
秘 剣 花 篝 ・流 転 『鏡 花 水 月 』 Hiken, Hanakagari: Ruten "Kyōka Suigetsu"?): The wielder unleash a circular slash from below to above. It was first used by Shy against Utsuro Karakururi alongside Four Sides Flower Branches, however, this technique is originally Ai's.[7]
- Mystic Art, Flower Basket Redux "Ephemeral Moonflower" (
- Mystic Art: White Jade Flash (
秘 剣 白 玉 楼 Hiken: Hakugyokurō?): The wielder charge against their opponent, spin their blade and then stab them in the chest. It was first used by Ai against Utsuro,[8] and it was so powerful that it should've killed Utsuro if she hadn't fused with Ai afterwards.[9] - Mystic Art, Shadow Style: Four Sides Flower Branches (
秘 剣 裏 式 四 面 楚 花 Hiken, Urashiki: Shimen Soka?): The wielder unleash four rapid slashes against their opponent, which form a lotus flower. It was first used by Shy against Utsuro alongside Ephemeral Moonflower, however, this technique is originally Ai's.[7]
