Shy Wiki

Only now do I realize... There are many, many things I should have told you earlier. But the only thing I want you to remember is that...I always loved you, Pesha. You are the one I loved most.

Tzveta Kooriskaya to Pepesha Andreanova in "What Is Conveyed and That Which Remains"

Tzveta Kooriskaya (ツィベタ=コオリスカヤ Tsibeta Kōrisukaya?), real name Letana Andreanova (レターナ=アンドレアノワ Retāna Andoreanowa?) and nicknamed Lenya (レーニャ Rēnya?),[3] was Pepesha Andreanova's mother. She was revived as a member of the Amarariruku, and eventually defeated by Shy and her daughter's Hero identity, Spirit.

Appearance

Letana was a tall woman with physical features similar to that of her daughter. She had fair skin, short blonde hair with longer bangs and blue eyes. Even when she was just a child, she would not smile much.[4]

As Tzveta, she had a much more childlike figure with short stature, along with little dark marks resembling three ice spikes on her right cheek she acquired during her first fight against the heroes. The first time she appeared to the Heroes, she was merely wearing a thick fur coat. By the time she invaded Yuri Orphanage with Keheheh Kekerakera, she wore a bodysuit beneath a cloak with a hood and a collar decorated with an eye each, fur in the wrists, gloves and boots.

After absorbing Spirit's power and recovering her memories, Tzveta's appearance became much similar to Iko Koishikawa's corrupted form. Her eyes started to bleed, her attire became white and black crystals floated around her body and head in horn-like fashion.

Personality

Tzveta was cold, emotionless and ruthless. She didn't hesitate at any moment to hurt her own daughter, and she presented herself completely distant from the feelings shown by Shy and Spirits, but she had a certain obsession with feeling "warmth", an obsession that made her follow Stigma. As pointed by Keheheh Kekerakera, she had difficulties in expressing properly, and was very insensitive many times.

Pepesha describes Letana as expressionless, but talkative as soon as she got drunk,[5] and Teru notices that mother and daughter are kind of similar in that regard. Even though she never expressed it while she was still alive, Letana loved her daughter deeply,[6] and would go to great lengths such as neglecting her own well-being to grant Pepesha's,[7] however, until the end of her life, she thought of herself as unworthy of being her mother.[8]

After being revived as Tzveta and recovering her memories upon absorbing Spirit's power, her regrets showed themselves. Shy points out how similar she is to Iko about how she thought she had to sacrifice herself for the behalf of other people and, given how much Tzveta denies it at first, it proves how much she resents never telling Pepesha how much she loved her.[9] When she finally did, however, she was finally at peace of heart, as she her Amarariruku crumbled and she disappeared soon after this.

History

Natalia suggests that Letana's upbringing made her very silent and isolated from others. While she was an orphan in Yuri Orphanage, she would never complain, instead made everything as asked of her and would care for other children wholeheartedly, even if some of them would belittle her for her personality. For these traits, she won Natalia's admiration and they became good friends.

Letana with her newborn daugther

Letana with her newborn daugther.

At some point of her life, Letana left the orphanage and gave birth to Pepesha Andreanova. There is no mention as how Letana got pregnant, or who the father is.

Letana struggled to find decent jobs, which also meant she was always short on money and couldn't pay her rent for over six months. She would many times deprive herself from eating so her own daughter could eat instead, and thought only about her own well-being over anything else. However, when she could drink, her personality would completely change to that of a child, and that moments would be precious memories to her daughter.

One night, Letana told her that they wouldn't be cold as long as they were together, and Pepesha quickly noticed she was drunk. As Pepesha asked her what would happen if she drinks, her mother replied that she would most likely disappear, telling her to only drink when she got older. They continue walking and then Letana asked her if she would go to a place where she would feel no hunger or cold, but no adults would be allowed. Pepesha told her she would rather stay with her mother, and she agreed, so they promised to drink together when Pepesha is older.

However, one day, when Pepesha refused to eat once as she would obviously notice that she never saw her mother eat, Letana got mad at her and, as she started to cry, she thought to herself she did not deserve to be her mother.

Letana falls to her death

Letana falls to her death.

In a snowy night, Letana passed by a bakery and decided to buy a cake for her daughter. As she was short on money, however, she asked for a few cookies instead, but the shop owner gave her the best cake her shop had. Letana would refuse, but the owner asked for the money she had now and for her to come back and tell her if they enjoyed it. She thanked her for it and promised to return, thinking to herself about apologizing to her daughter for getting mad at her, as well as to tell her how much she loved her.

However, as she was going back home, she was pushed against a bridge by a robber, and fell for her death. In her final moments, she thought that she only wanted for her daughter to never know the cruelty of the real world. Before dying, Letana had left a letter to her daughter, which, according to Natalia, must have been written when she was drunk, because it had all her true thoughts.

Synopsis

Revived by Stigma as Tzveta Kooriskaya in the Arctic, she tackles the trio of Heroes Shy, Spirits, and Mian Long with an ice attack, which the Japanese Hero deals with her flames, and she is enveloped by Spirits' smoke form. Tzveta attacks her and forces her to walk away, accusing them of being the ones who oppress their Hearts.

Tzveta injures Spirit

Tzveta attacks Spirit.

She attacks her again, but Spirits dodges it, only losing her hat. As Tzveta didn't have a ring on her unlike the others, the pair alert get alert. Shy attacks Tzveta with a torrent of flames that causes the ground below her to collapse, and she falls into the frozen lake. She soon returns, however, liking Shy's warmth and advancing on her, but is pinned down by Spirits who question her. Tzveta introduces herself and catches Spirits off guard by calling her "Pesha", attacking and freezing her, and Shy launches another torrent of flames at her.

Tzveta grabs Shy, but is stopped by Mian Long, who kicks her away. Annoyed, she decides to advance first against him who manages to break one of her ice blades and again knocks her away. Tzvetathen tries to freeze them both, however Shy uses her flames to melt the ice and Mian Long lunges at her with huge claws. Realizing that it didn't hurt, Tzvetaturns to him but soon feels sleepy as Mian Long's claws only put his targets to sleep. She is taken in by Stigma then.

Tzveta, in the company of Keheheh Kekerakera, goes to the Yuri Orphanage in Russia. She attacks the children playing outside with her ice, which catches the attention of Pepesha and Teru, who quickly transform into their Hero forms. Spirits quickly confronts Tzvetaand loses her cool at her comments, trapping her in her smoke, but Tzveta is unfazed by this, telling her that her memories before being revived are few, but she knew the orphanage was where she belonged because "he" had told her. Tzveta then traps them in her Amarariruku.

Tzveta's Amarariruku

Tzveta unleashes her Amarariruku.

Tzevta freezes the Heroes in place when she notices that the other children and caretakers have fallen unconscious and thinks it is due to her Amarariruku. Shy tries to attack Tzveta but she is protected by Keheheh. As the Japanese Hero fails to understand their motives, Tzveta tells Keheheh to let them be, but they are ultimately attacked by Spirit's smoke. It fails to damage them, however, and Spirit prepares to attack again.

Tzveta attacks them first with her ice, giving an opportunity for Keheheh to ambush Shy. However, Spirit is fast to counterattack her with her smoke by throwing her away at Tzveta, who catches her and asks her to continuing pressing Shy. Keheheh complies and tries to attack Shy again, but Spirit counterattacks again with Gas Cannon. Tzveta uses her ice to stop Keheheh from flying away and again asks her to go at them, but Keheheh now seems reluctant as she was hurt by the attack.

When Spirit tries to flee away from the scene in an attempt of taking the civilians out of her Amarariruku, Tzveta attacks her, however, Shy's One Stroke forces her to defend herself with an ice barrier. Noticing it wouldn't work, she quickly bends down to dodge it but Keheheh receives the attack anyway. In this manner, Spirit tries to leave the space, but is returned next to Tzveta, who explains that she rejects the world outside.

She reveals to Spirit that she was there to fill the gaps on her memory using the Hero's own memory and uses the unconscious civilians to get under Spirit's skin, which works all too well. Spirit gets enraged by it and goes straight at her in the first opportunity, and just as Shy notices, it was her objective to make Spirit touch her so she could absorb her powers and recollect her memories, remembering the day of her death.

Tzveta's powerful ice waves

Tzveta enraged by Shy.

As her memories are saw by not only Spirit, but Shy as well, Tzveta tells her that she only wanted to protect her and the other children from the world. Her words shakes Spirit's Heart, and her transformation is dispelled. The Amarariruku tries to convince her daughter into accepting the fantasy world she created, but Shy interrupts her. However, as she recovered her memories, her Amarariruku is stronger, thus she transforms herself.

Tzveta starts attacking Shy but to no avail, which confuses her as she should be stronger by now. Shy argues with her about her true feelings and thoughts, but she is unwilling to listen to her. As Shy encourages Pepesha, she transforms into Spirit again and prepares to fight. As Spirit tries to argue with her, Letana refuses to listens at first, but slowly gives in by her words and questions.

However, Keheheh interferes and convinces her otherwise, which makes her strengthen her Amarariruku. As she covers herself in her own ice, she repeats in her mind that she has no one, but, with the help of Shy's flames, Spirit is able to break through her ice and she hugs her, saying that she was not alone: as long as they were together, it wouldn't be cold anymore – it was what she said Pepesha many years ago.

Spirit takes her hands and finally tells her all her feelings towards her, including her deep love for her. As Tzveta's Amarariruku starts to crumble, she is now at peace of Heart and tells Keheheh to leave, to which she reluctantly complies. Tzveta tells the Heroes that she was revived out of Pepesha's wish to see her again, so she would be hit in her weakest spot. She also reveals that there are ten members of the Amarariruku, including herself.

Tzveta and Spirit finally drink together

Tzveta finally drinks with her daugther.

Tzveta thanks Shy for helping them reconcile and deposits her hope on them to stop Stigma. As she starts to disappear, however, she fulfills her promise to drink with daughter over a wholesome talk. Tzveta thanks Spirit for being hers, and tells her that she has always loved her, finally disappearing.

Equipment

Tzveta freezes Spirit.

Made in Heart (心遺物 (メイド・イン・ハート) Meido in Hāto?): Tzveta received a special ring from Stigma, which gave her a set of powerful abilities for her to use. After disappearing, her ring is now in the heroes' possession.

  • Ice ( (こおり) (あやつ) Kōri wo Ayatsuru?, lit. Manipulating Ice): As Tzveta, she was able to create and manipulate ice at will, creating walls and giant spikes of ice with ease. She also would use it to constantly freeze her enemies in place.[10] However, her ice was not indestructible as Shy could melt it with her flames.
Tzveta's Amarariruku manifested as a frozen space, and all civilians inside it had their hearts linked to hers.[11] Through her ice, she was able to control their bodies and speech, but not their true thoughts.[12] However, as noted by Spirit, their bodies couldn't endure the cold and would eventually break.[13]

Quotes

  • (To Pepesha Andreanova) "Only now do I realize... There are many, many things I should have told you earlier. But the only thing I want you to remember is that...I always loved you, Pesha. You are the one I loved most."[14]

Trivia

  • "Tzveta" may come from Све́та (Svéta), a shorter version of Светла́на (Svetlána) which means "bright," "shine," "light" or "white". "Kooriskaya" most likely comes from Kōri ( (こおり) ?), which means "ice", with the Russian sufix for location of origin–thus, her full name means "Tzveta from the ice".
  • She liked children and alcohol.
